Resumen:
This annotated bibliography consists of monographs and periodical articles;
it does not include newspapers, Peruvians or U.S. While a great deal of good
reporting on the war has come from such sources, problems with dependable
access to complete runs of peruvian paper made me decide to forgo any newspaper
stories. The first items in the bibliography are some obscure pamphlets by a
dogmatic splinter faction of the Peruvian Communist Party. It continues with
the first mention I found of Shining Path in a small, leftist Peruvian weekly
in the fall of 1980; it ends with a series of articles published in the leading
Peruvian human rights journal in december, 1993 speculating on the significance
of Abimael Guzmán´s offer to negociate with the government of Alberto Fujimoi
after thirteen years of bloodshed and horror. The books and magazine articles
come from a myriad or sources. Principally, the books are those classified
under the subject headings “Sendero Luminoso” or “Terrorism-Perú” in the
bibliographic databases RLIN and OCLC. The journal articles come mainly from
social science indexes, such as PAIS, Social Sciences Index, Reader´s Guide and
the Hispanic American Periodicals Index.
